Whiskey Hotel Instructors

Jimmy Heldman (Owner)

SSG Heldman has multiple combat tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Jim has spent time filling all roles of an Infantryman from a Machine Gunner, a SDM, Scout, Team Leader, and Squad Leader. He specialized in small unit tactics and small arms and has conducted training with and for foreign militaries. Jim has won multiple rifle competitions and holds the Camp Perry 2018 combat rifle and combat pistol first place titles.

Frank Steed

Frank is a retired Green Beret with more combat tours than fingers can count. Frank brings instruction in rifle marksmanship and unconventional small team tactics.

Norman Waldron

Norm brings a lot of knowledge to the cadre here at Whiskey Hotel. Between his training at various schools throughout his military career he also continued his education with civilian programs. Below are some of his programs he has taken.

Mike Kampmeier

I started shooting at a very young age growing up on the range watching my father teach firearms for a local PD. My passion for teaching started around 5th grade when I did a school project on firearms safety. I started shooting competitively around 2007. I have participated in several different competitive disciplines from handgun to rifle to 3-gun over the years. I have shot as qualified Expert Class in IDPA and achieved Master Class with GLOCK Shooting Sports Foundation. I have taught pistol skills in a formal class setting off and on since about 2013. I am a certified NRA instructor and I have trained with several local, regional, and national level instructors. Classes and training that I have taken are below.

Eli Wood

Eli is a Marine Corps veteran with one combat deployment to Helmand Provence Afghanistan in 2009-2010. From 2010-2011 he was a unit level machine gun instructor, for a 249 saw up to the browning M2. He also attended combat lifesavers course, jungle warfare training, and small unit tactics course. Expert rifle and expert pistol shooting while in the Marines.

Outside of the military, he started shooting IDPA and 2 gun around 2013. Along with that, he has attended several outside classes.
